I’m kind of laying low until the new year. There has been allot going on in my life, and I need to find the heart and words to blog hard about the fulness of my life.
I do have some more to say and explore about baptism (good comments by the way… I might not be able to wait until ‘07 to respond), community, salvation, theology, and living out the-Fear-of-the-Lord. But that’s not all I have to say. The savage needs to yawlp.
Anyways, enough of this navel gaze blogging. Enjoy the holidays, find someone to kiss as you ring in the New Year, run hard on the Way, and keep the faith.
Blessings!

So, I am currently trying to articulate thoughts about the mystery of conversion. Part of this thread of thought is baptism. Here is a bit of what I’m thinking:
Baptism is as much an act of acceptance as it as an act of affirmation. The new believer affirms the community’s confession of faith as true truth and accepts it personally as their own. The community in turn accepts the believer as one of its own and affirms them as a believer in their personal confession of faith.
Any thoughts?

Bob Hyatt has some good thoughts about becoming wiser rather than just smarter. This is a key issue for any believer because of the-fear-of-the-Lord that we are called to live out and in (see this post for a bit of a definition).
Our lives are not called to be moral. Rather, we are called to live out the resurrection life of Christ.

Just want everyone to know that I’m not dead. Life has just been full with work, a church plant, and helping another church form a worship team.
It has been good to be in the mix more than I have been in quite a while. It has given me food for thought, and I do have a few posts brewing. So never fear, the Savage will yawlp again!
In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites from the near past.
What the Atonement did (start here and read all four. They are meant to be one, long post)
Seeing Jesus
Glory on the mountain and sleep in our heads
Theology is for peace makers
Go, read those, think about the Kingdom, rejoice during Advent, and may the peace of Christ be yours.
