O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?

Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honour.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8 (NRSV)

Fame is overrated. People want to be well known and famous, so we puff up our egos and strut our stuff, just hoping someone doesn’t come along and show us up.

But really, what are we? What do we really have that is glorious? Rare is it that humanity takes my breath away, but the stars… have you seen the stars!? Even with the naked eye, the night sky is awe inspiring. And what about the terrible power of a storm front rolling over the mountains? Lightning flashes, thunder rolls and we humans run for shelter.

But, we have something the wonder of the heavens will never have: dignity. We are human, crafted by God to honer and worship nothing but God. As man is meant to be, we are second only to God. He has even vested us with a portion of His sovereignty: all of creation is our dominion. The very things that strike us with awe, the skies, the creatures, all the works of God’s hand has been placed under our feet.

This is the dignity of humanity, we are loved by God. take that statement one step closer to your heart: I am loved by God.

This majestic Lord, our Lord, the one who;s name is shouted and proclaimed in ever corner of Terra, the one that babies speak of as they ooze life and wonder, the who who’s glory is above the heavenly awe, this God is mindful of you and I; This God cares for you and me.

Feel the dignity placed on your sholdersby this great God and break out in praise!

O Yahweh, our sovereign, how majestic is your wonderful name in all the earth.

We are all talking about you, whether we know it our not. You are truly famous, and you love us, you love me.

Teach me to love you more and to love others like you do. Heal the heart of humanity so that we can rejoice in the place you have created us to be.

Let all my words be willfully about you, Abba Yahweh my sovereign; how very great is your name!
