What is the best answer you have to the question, “what is the gospel?”

Do you think our gospel statements are trinitarian enough?

  • Now that is an interesting question I have no idea how to answer. 

    I would ask whether or not our Gospel accurately reflects the story God has told in Scripture. 

    • It’s funny how many times I find my self stammering when I’m presented with this question. It’s not that I (and maybe we) don’t know, it’s that our articulation of the answer sometimes feels like putting a tornado in a jar: it throws us around.

      I agree with your question. We need to answer that. I would also add that we need to let our Gospel fully portray the self revelation God has shown us about himself in the story of scripture.
