And I'd never even heard of this guy…

You scored as Anselm. Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man’s primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read ‘Cur Deus Homo?’

Tommy thinks Anselm is the scholastic who castrated himself. I wonder what comes up if I google that . . . :-)

Ok, so I might be like Anselm in my theological nerd-ness, but never, ever, ever would I (or could I) make my self a eunich. All I can say to that is wow (and ow)… and now I must go google it. ;)

Wow does Tommy have it off!

It's Origen, way before the scholastic period, who castrated himself. (As one of my teachers loved to say, "Origen proved that sin really is privation."

Anselm (of Canterbury) is only one of the best theologians ever. His Cur Deus Homo (Why the God-man?) is brilliant. He's also the much-maligned author of the so-called (but not by him) ontological argument for the existence of God.

I'm completely suspicious of this test, though, because it would seem almost impossible for Anselm and Augustine to be that far apart.
